Incorporating CBCT into the dental practice opens the door to enhanced diagnostic and treatment planning capabilities. This course will provide a strong foundation in basic principles of CBCT technology, anatomy, tips for reviewing CBCT scans, and will discuss applications of 3D imaging in the dental office. This course is designed for dentist and team members who want to enhance their knowledge of the use of CBCT.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Review basic principles of CBCT technology. Indications for 3D imaging, common artifacts, and radiation dose will be discussed.
- Identify anatomic landmarks in CBCT.
- Develop a roadmap for how to review CBCT scans.
- Discuss benefits of 3D imaging for different clinical applications and review potential pitfalls of 2D imaging.
